*         On May 12 - 22, 2008 the Florida A&M University School of Journalism and Graphic Communication will host its Third Annual Media Sales Institute .  The MSI will provide participants a ten-day, intense training program on all aspects of selling media in today's business climate.  These students will also receive specialized training in audience measurement, establishing client relationships, understanding what agencies, clients, and sales managers expect, and much more.  Attached are an application, a fact sheet, a snapshot of this year's curriculum , and a poster . - Notes -

*         The 2008 ‘Canes Film Festival kicks off today Friday, May 2nd at the Bill Cosford Cinema at the University of Miami .  The festival showcases narrative, documentary, and animated films produced by graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Communication 's motion picture program.  This year's Best of the Fest films will be screened on Sunday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. Admission for Best of the Fest night is free and open to the public. A schedule of all the films is available on the Festival website, www.canesfilmfestival.com

*         The CNJ442 Online Journalism class started a social networking site for the School of Communication .  They are hoping it will be used to connect students, alumni, faculty, and staff and allow students from different majors to collaborate on projects.  Each member has a profile page and there are forums where members can share ideas and request help on a project.  Visit their site at www.commtogether.ning.com

  • Christ Effect Entertainment is proud to present the premiere of its first two feature films, "The Christ Effect" and "Lamb of God," produced and directed by Stephanie Rodnez.  The event is taking place May 8th, 6pm at the Bill Cosford Cinema .  Admission is free and guests are welcome!
