Mr. Stern holds a B.F.A. from the Philadelphia Academy of the Arts. He served as a filmmaker in residence at the North Carolina School of the Arts and as Adjunct Professor at New School University in NYC.

His professional background also includes work on films such as "Kings of Comedy", Outside Providence, Silence of the Lambs, Goodfellas, The Untouchables, American Splendor and Chicago. Furthermore, he was nominated for an Emmy (Best Sound - Documentary) for his work on "Joni Mitchell: A Woman of Heart and Mind."
