Ed Talavera, M.F.A. Associate Professor , Motion Picture and Video-Film

Ed Talavera is an award winning Director of Photography and cinematographer of narrative and documentary feature films. Talavera's numerous film credits include work that has aired on HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and theaters worldwide.

His theatrical film credits include Sue, Perfect Prey and Bridget - Feature documentaries include One Water, Waking Up Screaming and Embittered Glory, a television documentary on the 9/11 tragedy.

Talavera's unique and evocative visual style has garnered international praise and evident in his latest feature documentary "One Water" - a non-verbal documentary on global water sustainability.

A graduate of New York University's Graduate Film program, Talavera has taught in the School of Communication at the University of Miami since 1999, where he is also serves as the Director of the UM Canes Film Festival.
