SoC Graduate named Executive Director of Media Relations for UM
The University of Miami named Elizabeth “Liz” Amore the new Executive Director of Media Relations. Amore, received her master’s in communication in 2007 from the UM School of Communication.
Amore was previously a media relations officer at UM. She is now responsible for strategic communications and public relations for the University.
For eight years, Amore worked at UM’s Medical campus with UM-Humana’s Health Services Research Center and the Diabetes Research Institute, where she helped to coordinate research studies. Prior to that, she worked at the Lowe Art Museum handling media communication, marketing, and advertising.
She credits the UM School of Communication for helping her achieve her career goals.
“The School of Communication encouraged me to delve deeper into the field of public relations. I found myself engulfed in research; and that helped me to embark on a great career in the communications field,” Amore says.
Amore is also a published writer and a visual journalist whose work has been displayed at museums such as the Frost Museum at Florida International University and others.
Congratulations to our alumna!
