University of Miami School of Communication

The School of Communication operates or advises and supports a broad range of student produced media.  The School’s cable television station UMTV offers regular student produced news, public affairs and entertainment programming to the campus and surrounding community.  Students participate in the nationally award-winning campus newspaper, THE HURRICANE, student published lifestyle magazine, and the University radio station, WVUM-FM.  Students also contribute to hyper-local news sites and have developed a social network website focused on multimedia standards. The Knight Center for International Media, the University of Miami News Service, the student run Advertising/Public Relations Agency (PRADUM) and other media outlets provide hands-on learning for the students as well as service and information for the campus, the community, the region and the world.
