International Reporting in Mexico City
School of Communication students are studying this summer on four continents. The stories below were written as part of a new course, International Reporting in Mexico City. Students are reporting, doing original research, and meeting with foreign and local journalists. They have met with New York Times correspondent Ginger Thompson, NPR correspondent Lourdes Garcia Navarro, Times of London correspondent James Hider, El Universal Editorial Vice President Roberto Rock, and author and journalist Marco Lara Klahr, among others.

Summer in Shanghai Student Journalism Project
Seven undergraduate students from the School of Communication at the University of Miami have traveled to the People's Republic of China. They are writing feature articles and taking photographs about their experiences and the people they have met. We present their work in the class on this Web site. To prepare their articles, they have lived in Shanghai and traveled by air and train to Beijing, Xi'an, Hong Kong, Nanjing, and a few other places in the vast reaches of modern China.

Graphic - Our National Parks

Our National Parks
There are 390 parks, historical parks, monuments, historic sites, and memorials that are part of the national parks system of the United States in 2006. They attract about 270 million visitors each year. We have visited some of these parks, preserves, and monuments during the past four years. We have written a series of, we hope, interesting feature articles about activities, the environment, scenic rivers, unusual places, historical sites, and the people of Our National Parks. You will also view photographs taken by our group that dramatically show the character of these special places.
